SteriPro launches North America's first outsourced endoscopy sterilization program

MISSISSAUGA, ON — SteriPro has launched North America's first outsourced endoscopy sterilization program, extending centralized reprocessing quality to flexible endoscopes — consistently among the most difficult devices in the hospital to reprocess, and among the most consequential when reprocessing fails.

Endoscope reprocessing has been implicated in more device-related infection events than almost any other category, and standards on both sides of the border — AAMI ST91 in the United States, the CSA Z314 series in Canada — have tightened accordingly. Most hospital programs meet these requirements in decentralized reprocessing rooms with limited space, variable water quality, and thin staffing coverage.

SteriPro's program moves that work into a purpose-built environment: dedicated endoscope reprocessing capacity within our centralized operation, full device-level traceability, validated processes overseen by our ISO 17025 laboratory, and monitored SteriChain™ transport between hospital and facility. The program also operates onsite within partner hospitals, applying the same standard where the scopes live.

The launch reflects SteriPro's operating conviction: the highest-risk reprocessing work belongs in the most controlled environment available — not the most convenient one.
